Holly Golightly
Breakfast at Tiffany's is a silly movie. I liked it when I was younger as a lot of girls do, as a lot of grown girls do. I thought the movie was deep and the dialogue clever and profound. It isn't and it's not. I thought the clothes were amazing and Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly to be the epitome of style. They still are and she still is.
I've not read the movie's source material, Truman Capote's novel, Breakfast at Tiffany's, but mean to. I will be interested to see if Holly Golightly is more dynamic in print. But books don't have timeless trench coats and French twists and the best little black dress. Here are some looks inspired by Holly Golightly - her character may be superficial, but her style is utterly imitable.
Holiday Style
Pea coats make me happy, maybe even more so on men than women. I'm always trying to talk guys into wearing pea coats ("an expensive coat is an investment", "they're sexy!") with limited success. Pea coat, puffer coat, or parka, stay warm through the holidays and take advantage of cute cold-weather accessories. After all, it's scientifically proven that mittens keep your hands warmer than gloves and common knowledge that they're adorable. Here's to delightful holiday outfits!
